Q: What is Montevallo Historical Press? A: Montevallo Historical Press is a small-press publisher and bookseller founded by Dean K. Fick in Montevallo, Alabama. After incorporation, the company moved with its owner to Ohio in June 1999, and to Iowa in 2002. Our business is publishing and selling superlative works of historical non-fiction. Q: You offer only a few books for sale. Why? A: We got our start in 1997 as the passion of a single American male with lots of spare time. But now that male is married and heavily involved in raising two great kids. Eventually (2012?) we will start publishing books again. In the mean time, we are still here and shipping our preliminary titles to customers and dealers. Q: Will you publish my historical manuscript? A: No. Sorry, but at this time, we are not accepting unsolicited manuscripts for publication. Thank you for your interest! Q: Will my order be given prompt attention? A: Absolutely! We'll ship your order almost immediately, and we won't charge your credit card until your books are on their way to you. Honesty and integrity are the foundations of our business. If you aren't happy with your purchase, we'll do whatever we can to make sure you are. Q: What are your hours of operation? A: As a very small company, we operate at odd hours. This means that we take care of business at almost any time. When we are away, phone calls are answered by an automated service. All messages are responded to promptly. The most efficient ways to reach us are with an email message, or by using our secure online ordering system. Q: Can I pick up my order in person? A: Yes, by prior arrangement. Please call 563-823-5749 to set up an appointment. Q: Do you accept wholesale orders from dealers? A: Yes, most certainly! Please see our Dealer Information Page to learn more. A: Our main office is located at 1727 West 17th Street in Davenport, Iowa. |
