Davenport, Iowa – February 3, 2002 – Montevallo Historical Press, Inc. announced today that its best-selling year 2000 title, The Lakeside and Marblehead Railroad, is now out of print.
Dean K. Fick, president of Montevallo Historical Press, Inc. and the author of the book, said today: “I have been amazed and very flattered by the spectacular success of the book in which I detailed the history of my hometown railroad line. People all over the world have purchased a copy and are now familiar with the people, events and places that made the area where I grew up such a railfan mecca for so many years. Although the book has been selling well, sales have been trailing off, and we do not believe that there will be sufficient enough demand to reprint the book at present.” “Even though the book is now out of print, we do want to monitor interest in it,” Fick continued. “We have set up a sign-up page on our website where people who would like to purchase a copy can tell us of their interest in The Lakeside and Marblehead Railroad.
